General Information

Rome is the capital city and most populated comune (municipality) of Italy. It is also the administrative centre of the Lazio region and of the Metropolitan City of Rome. A special comune named Roma Capitale with a population of 2.7 million in an area of 1,287.36 km2 (497.1 mi2), Rome is the third most populous city in the European Union by population within city limits. The Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, with a population of 4.2 million, is the most populous metropolitan city in Italy. Its metropolitan area is the third-most populous within Italy. Rome is located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, within Lazio (Latium), along the shores of the Tiber Valley. Vatican City is an independent country inside the city boundaries of Rome, the only existing example of a country within a city. Rome is often referred to as the "City of Seven Hills" due to its geography, and also as the "Eternal City". Rome is generally considered to be one of the cradles of Western civilization and Western Christian culture, and the centre of the Catholic Church.

Chi è Bruno Antonio Malatesta, il “Maestro” della presunta setta arrestato. I carabinieri: “Chi si riconosce come vittima denunci”
Cinquantanove anni, una presenza costruita anche sul web attraverso la promozione di corsi di yoga, meditazione e difesa personale. È Bruno Antonio Malatesta l’uomo arrestato questa mattina dai carabinieri di Torino nell’ambito dell’operazione “Asmodeo”, un’indagine avviata nel marzo 2024 su una presunta setta pseudo-spirituale nella bassa Val di Susa. Malatesta, che secondo gli investigatori si faceva chiamare “Maestro, avrebbe costruito attorno alla propria figura un sistema di relazioni fondato sulla promessa di un percorso spirituale e sulla presunta capacità di intervenire anche su problemi di salute. Secondo quanto ricostruito dagli investigatori, avrebbe avvicinato soprattutto persone in condizioni di difficoltà o vulnerabilità, alcune delle quali conosciute proprio attraverso corsi di yoga aperti a tutti. Tra le promesse che gli vengono attribuite ci sarebbero anche presunte guarigioni da malattie oncologiche e il possesso di poteri soprannaturali. Il passaggio dalla frequentazione dei corsi alla vita nella comunità avrebbe rappresentato, secondo l’ipotesi investigativa, l’ingresso in un sistema sempre più rigido di assoggettamento psicologico. Gli adepti avrebbero vissuto in alcune villette a schiera della bassa Val di Susa, intestate a società che, secondo gli accertamenti, sarebbero state indirettamente riconducibili a Malatesta. Indossavano tuniche arancioni e si rasavano la testa. All’interno della comunità, secondo la ricostruzione degli inquirenti, era previsto per tutti un voto di povertà. Alle donne, definite “monache” e “ancelle”, sarebbe stato imposto anche un voto di castità nei confronti dei propri compagni o mariti, con un’eccezione che avrebbe riguardato il “Maestro”. Le regole sarebbero state accompagnate da punizioni, comprese quelle corporali, e dall’obbligo, in alcuni casi, di dormire per terra. Sono accuse pesanti quelle contestate a Malatesta: riduzione in schiavitù, maltrattamenti in famiglia, violenza sessuale aggravata e truffa aggravata ai danni dello Stato. Nell’inchiesta compaiono inoltre presunti abusi sessuali ai danni di minorenni: secondo gli investigatori, si tratterebbe di adolescenti di 16 e 17 anni all’epoca dei fatti. Le indagini, coordinate dal sostituto procuratore di Torino Davide Pretti, sarebbero partite da diverse denunce, alcune delle quali successivamente ritirate. Le prime risalirebbero al 2017, mentre l’inchiesta che ha portato all’arresto è stata avviata nel marzo 2024. Malatesta si trova ora nel carcere Lorusso e Cutugno di Torino. La ricostruzione degli investigatori dovrà naturalmente essere sottoposta al vaglio dell’autorità giudiziaria e le contestazioni dovranno essere accertate nelle successive fasi del procedimento. L’appello dei carabinieri alle possibili vittime Proprio alla luce del quadro emerso dall’indagine, i carabinieri rivolgono un appello a eventuali altre persone che ritengano di essere state vittime del presunto sistema di abusi. Il tenente colonnello Diego Berlingieri, comandante del Reparto operativo dei carabinieri di Torino, invita chiunque si riconosca nella vicenda a rivolgersi ai comandi dell’Arma territorialmente competenti o alle stazioni dei carabinieri per denunciare eventuali fatti subiti. L’ufficiale richiama inoltre l’attenzione sul rischio di affidarsi, in situazioni di malattia o particolare fragilità, a persone che attribuiscono a se stesse competenze non riconosciute. Il consiglio dell’Arma è di rivolgersi, in presenza di problemi di salute o altre difficoltà, esclusivamente a professionisti qualificati e riconosciuti. Damiano David, 27 anni, e Dove Cameron, 30, si sono sposati il 24 settembre a Montalcino, nel cuore della Val d’Orcia. Passati i giorni di cerimonia e festeggiamenti, per i due è arrivato il momento di staccare la spina. La coppia avrebbe scelto Bali. L’isola indonesiana sarebbe la prima tappa della luna di miele. Dopo il matrimonio in Toscana, i due si sarebbero lasciati alle spalle riflettori e red carpet per ritagliarsi qualche giorno tutto per loro. Dopo mesi intensi passati a organizzare cerimonia e festa, la coppia avrebbe optato per una località di mare, tra passeggiate sulla spiaggia, escursioni nella natura e cene a lume di candela. Per ora è tutto un po’ vago. Non è chiaro quanto resteranno sull’isola né se Bali sia l’unica destinazione o solo l’inizio di un viaggio più lungo. Per ora le notizie arrivano dalla stampa italiana, mentre i due non hanno pubblicato nulla di ufficiale sul viaggio. Il matrimonio ha attirato attenzione anche all’estero. A Montalcino c’erano tantissimi curiosi, fan e fotografi, e il rito civile è stato celebrato dal sindaco Silvio Franceschelli nelle sale affrescate del Palazzo Comunale. Ai piedi del palazzo era stata allestita una lunga distesa di ortensie e fiori bianchi. La stampa internazionale ha raccontato i look. Dove ha indossato un completo bianco con cravatta e mantello, firmato Giorgio Armani, mentre Damiano ha scelto un abito avorio con sciarpa di seta. Una sposa in smoking non è un caso. Dove ha spiegato di aver voluto un look che rispecchiasse la sua identità LGBTQ+, mescolando elementi maschili e femminili. Secondo la stampa argentina, la coppia è arrivata alla cerimonia su una cabriolet bianca guidata da Damiano. All’uscita sono arrivati gli applausi e un bacio davanti ai presenti. Dopo il Palazzo Comunale è partita la festa. Gli invitati si sono spostati a Castiglion del Bosco, esclusivo resort Rosewood a pochi chilometri da Montalcino.
