General Information

Rome is the capital city and most populated comune (municipality) of Italy. It is also the administrative centre of the Lazio region and of the Metropolitan City of Rome. A special comune named Roma Capitale with a population of 2.7 million in an area of 1,287.36 km2 (497.1 mi2), Rome is the third most populous city in the European Union by population within city limits. The Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, with a population of 4.2 million, is the most populous metropolitan city in Italy. Its metropolitan area is the third-most populous within Italy. Rome is located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, within Lazio (Latium), along the shores of the Tiber Valley. Vatican City is an independent country inside the city boundaries of Rome, the only existing example of a country within a city. Rome is often referred to as the "City of Seven Hills" due to its geography, and also as the "Eternal City". Rome is generally considered to be one of the cradles of Western civilization and Western Christian culture, and the centre of the Catholic Church.

Ricordiamo ancora le ironie e persino qualche sberleffo, quando come Articolo21 decidemmo di lanciare un appello a formare la scorta mediatica per illuminare la richiesta di verità e giustizia per Giulio Regeni. Invece dieci anni dopo la sentenza è arrivata. Ora possiamo prenderci pure il lusso di storcere un po’ il naso, perché magari ci aspettavamo una sentenza più pesante. Invece sarà il caso di leggere la presa di posizione di Paola, Irene e Claudio, la madre, il padre e la sorella di Giulio, e della loro legale Alessandra Ballerini, che nel loro comunicato ci ricordano come la sentenza riconosca senza margine di ambiguità il coinvolgimento del governo egiziano e degli apparati statali. Giulio ê stato sequestrato dai quattro ufficiali, protetti ancora oggi dal dittatore Al Sisi; più difficile – a causa di una fitta rete di depistaggio – è stato invece individuare con certezza gli assassini, ma le tre condanne a dieci anni non chiudono affatto la partita politica, anzi spalancano un portone. Il governo italiano potrà continuare a definire “governo amico” il regime egiziano? A che ora convocherà l’ambasciatore egiziano? Chiederà l’immediata estradizione? Proseguiranno traffici di ogni tipo? Il ministro Tajani e la presidente Meloni faranno sentire la loro voce? Quel “prima gli italiani” non vale mai per Giulio Regeni, Andrea Rocchelli, Mario Paciolla… Attendiamo risposte che non ci saranno, ma nel frattempo la scorta mediatica e il popolo giallo lo non smobiliteranno. Continueremo a illuminare e sostenere ogni iniziativa che la famiglia Regeni e Alessandra Ballerini decideranno di promuovere. Un grazie infine a quanti, a cominciare anche dai Blog de Il Fatto Quotidiano, non hanno mai alzato bandiera bianca. Alla fine quello che sembrava impossibile si è realizzato. Proseguono le indagini sul giallo di Pietracatella. La polizia ha perquisito lo studio di Gianni Di Vita, il papà e marito delle due donne morte avvelenate dalla ricina lo scorso dicembre. Gli uomini della squadra mobile di Campobasso, guidati da Marco Graziano, sono stati nell’ufficio che si trova proprio di fronte alla casa dove, nei giorni a ridosso del Natale scorso, sono morte la figlia Sara e la moglie Antonella Di Ielsi. Al momento nel fascicolo per duplice omicidio della Procura di Larino non ci sono indagati. Ieri mattina hanno avuto inizio in questura gli accertamenti sul computer e sulle dieci pen drive sequestrati lo scorso 31 luglio a Di Vita. La procuratrice di Larino, Elvira Antonelli, ha incaricato personale specializzato dello Sco per l’estrapolazione dei dati contenuti nei dispositivi elettronici. Alle operazioni potevano partecipare anche le parti: indagati, avvocati, parti offese e consulenti. Si è presentato però solo Gianni Alfonso, consulente informatico dell’avvocato Vittorino Facciolla, il legale che assiste Gianni Di Vita. La Procura, nell’ambito delle indagini sulla morte di madre e figlia, ha chiesto in particolare l’estrazione di dati inerenti eventuali rapporti, relazioni e legami correlabili alle navigazioni internet dirette a procurarsi ricina da parte delle due vittime; dati relativi ai rapporti con famigliari, parenti e amici, utili a ricostruire le abitudini di vita, i rapporti delle vittime; eventuali annotazioni da parte delle vittime su alimenti consumati nei giorni antecedenti ai malori; eventuali documenti, note, pagine di diario, lettere inerenti eventuali malattie sofferte dalle vittime e non conosciute; chat, foto, registrazioni vocali, note, rilevazione delle posizioni dei dispositivi, degli indirizzi email e degli account dei profili social network. L’arco temporale della ricerca è molto ampio, va dalla prima accensione dei dispositivi fino al giorno del loro ultimo utilizzo. Il tempo fissato per ultimare il lavoro è di 60 giorni salvo proroga.
